Attorney Corey Chirafisi and Attorney Timothy Verhoff are both former prosecutors. As such, they have a unique perspective into how the other side thinks about prosecuting cases. Attorney Chirafisi served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kenosha County before entering private practice. Attorney Verhoff served as the Deputy District Attorney in Dane County, essentially second in command, for a decade before becoming partners with Attorney Chirafisi. Their experience in prosecuting a wide variety of crimes, including OWI offenses, brings a unique perspective that benefits all of our clients. Our attorneys understand why prosecutors charge, try, and settle cases. They have great insight into prosecution strategies, actions and concerns; our attorneys will use all of these throughout every phase of your case, from trial to settlement negotiations. Attorneys Chirafisi & Verhoff have both been repeatedly named as Super Lawyers by their peers, and both are on the Top 25 Super Lawyers in Madison list for 2018.

Our Legal Assistants have experience and knowledge of the legal process which allow them to be a great first point of contact to answer client’s questions about what to expect. Of course our Attorneys are the legal experts and will always speak directly with our clients throughout the process; but when the Attorneys are in court, our Legal Assistants can often assist clients immediately.

An accomplished criminal defense attorney in Wisconsin, Corey C. Chirafisi devotes his legal career solely to defending individuals charged with criminal and drunk driving offenses. He handles cases involving Wisconsin state law as well as federal law, and has represented people on every type of criminal charge and all levels of drunk driving charges with rather impressive results in numerous difficult cases.

A former prosecutor, Mr. Chirafisi began his career as an assistant district attorney handling criminal matters ranging from disorderly conduct to homicide. He provides this experience to current clients whether they are charged with battery, computer sex crimes, drug offenses, drunk driving, disorderly conduct, felony possession, sexual assault or child pornography, to name a few.

Attorney Chirafisi was named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2007 and 2008. No more than 2.5% of attorneys are named to the Rising Stars list. Every year from 2011 through 2018 (8 years in a row) Attorney Chirafisi has been voted by his peers as a Super Lawyer. Only the top 5% of attorneys are named to this prestigious list. In 2018 Attorney Chirafisi was voted onto the Top 25 Madison Super Lawyers list.

Mr. Chirafisi is licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin in any state court or throughout the nation in any federal court. He earned his law degree at The City University of New York School of Law and was admitted to practice law in Wisconsin in 1998. His practice, Chirafisi & Verhoff Law Office, S.C., is located in Madison, Wisconsin.

Attorney Verhoff began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for Dane County. In short order, he graduated from trying misdemeanor and OWI cases to trying very complex murder, sexual assault, child abuse, and felony assault cases. Attorney Verhoff was appointed Deputy District Attorney and held that position for nearly a decade.

Attorney Verhoff’s skills are recognized by his peers in the legal community. He is regularly named as one of Dane County’s top lawyers by Madison Magazine and was voted by his peers as a Super Lawyer in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

He has been noted as a BV-Distinguished lawyer by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review system. And in 2007, Attorney Verhoff was recognized by the Wisconsin District Attorney’s Association as Wisconsin’s Deputy District Attorney of the Year. In 2018 Attorney Verhoff was voted onto the Top 25 Madison Super Lawyers list.

Bringing a significant and unique perspective to criminal defense, Mr. Verhoff can help you navigate the often confusing legal system. Mr. Verhoff can see your case from the prosecutor's perspective.
