Felony Drug Case Dropped
Our client was arrested and taken to jail on a felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. During a search of a vehicle in which he was a passenger, police found a backpack that contained approximately 50 grams of marijuana, sandwich bags and a scale. Attorney Tim Verhoff was able to convince the District Attorney to release the client from custody prior to charging. Based on how the client explained the stop and search, Attorney Verhoff suspected it violated the Fourth Amendment. He discussed this with the prosecution before charges were issued, and the District Attorney’s Office decided to simply decline prosecution.
